Huicui Pink Lotus Cymbidium Variety Introduction

Selected and bred by Mr. Huang Zilie of Shantou's "Huicui Orchid Garden"! A standard lotus-petal Sijilan (Four Seasons Orchid), leaf texture broad and thick, with even wood grain, leaf color dark green, slanted upright, fish-belly shape with abrupt tips, plant height about 30-40CM; among Sijilan it is a medium-to-large flower type (about 3CM-3.5CM), the outer three petals have obvious contracted bases and flared corners, ratio 2:1, the petals are compact, ru yi (ruyi) lip, the special feature is that the flower color is very unique, from small bud arrangement to large bud arrangement, the buds are milky white inlaid with jade-green striped lines, very beautiful, and only when they bloom does the flower color turn pink interspersed with a few green stripes, the flower color pink, gorgeously moving, the whole flower quite grand. Medium-short, slanted upright leaves, dark green leaf color, with wood grain, blunt tips, leaf ends have silver thread tips, buds purplish red, leaf sheaths broad, thick, short and round. The outer three petals have contracted bases and flared corners, flower buds milky white with green lines, gradually turning pink only when fully open, with a few green stripes, bright and beautiful.

In 1999, Shantou orchid enthusiast Mr. Huang Zilie purchased it at the Shantou City People's Square mobile flower market; at the time the whole clump had 10 seedlings in total, and he bought and kept it because its leaf material showed obvious lotus-petal characteristics.
