How to grow a Monstera deliciosa so it grows faster
1. Soil:
1. This plant likes fertile soil, and because it grows very fast, we have to change the soil and the flowerpot once a year. If we do not change the soil and the flowerpot, its roots have already filled the pot and lost their vigor, so how can it still absorb nutrients and how can it grow? Therefore we should keep the habit of changing once a year.
2. Choose March to April for repotting. Take the plant out, remove the old soil and the withered roots, then prepare a slightly larger pot, put some hoof pieces and crushed bone at the bottom of the pot as base fertilizer, then put in some leaf mold, sandy soil and vegetable garden soil, using the same amount of each of these soils, then put the plant in and fill in the surface soil.
2. Light:
Although this is a plant that likes to grow in shady places, having no sunlight at all is instead bad for its development. We can place it in a room with light or in a spot with light, using a shade net to block part of the sunlight. This will be more favorable for its growth.
3. Fertilizer:
This plant needs fertilizing during its growth period, and because it is itself a plant that likes to consume a large amount of fertilizer, the amount we apply needs to be larger. From April to September, you can add diluted cake fertilizer water once every 15 days; you can also apply it with already rotted human urine mixed with water. Because this plant has relatively tender roots, do not choose raw fertilizer or concentrated fertilizer when fertilizing.
