Recommended Vegetable Varieties Suitable for Planting in Autumn and Winter
Garlic Chives
The garlic chive stuffed pancakes of Northeast China are truly unforgettable once you have tried them. Not only do garlic chive pockets taste really fragrant, but they are also very simple to make. So in this cold winter, grow some garlic chives yourself, and they can keep growing continuously, making them very suitable for planting whether on a balcony or indoors. They can grow normally above 10 degrees, and they do not have high demands for soil or sunlight. However, you must plant them using garlic chive roots; if you grow them from seed, you might only get to eat garlic chives after winter is over.
Scallions
Almost every dish cannot do without scallions; they are one of the most common auxiliary ingredients and seasonings. Likewise, plant them from scallion roots, and in 3 weeks you can eat fresh small scallions. Growing from seed also works, but it will be somewhat slower. Whether indoors or on a balcony, the planting method is also very simple.
Cilantro
I myself grow some cilantro at home, otherwise every time I need it I have to go buy it, and sometimes I forget, and a whole dish without the flavor of cilantro loses a lot of points. Moreover, cilantro grows very vigorously; you only need to keep the temperature between 12 degrees and 26 degrees. But it is both cold-tolerant and heat-resistant, only its growth will be a little slower.
Lettuce
At 4 degrees, its seeds can germinate, and at around 15 degrees, it can grow quickly. Being able to eat a fresh lettuce meal in winter is also a very pleasant thing, and since you grow it yourself, it is absolutely green.
Spinach
Speaking of spinach, friends really should eat it often. Spinach is very nutritious, and spinach itself likes cool temperatures, so it is also very suitable for planting in winter.
