1. Sowing:

1. This plant is generally propagated by sowing. In the south, around September to October, the ripe fruit that has turned purplish-black can be used for sowing.

2. Wash off the outer skin of the fruit, then rinse it in water. Remove the shriveled seeds that float to the surface, then place the remaining selected seeds in a cool place to dry naturally.

3. Generally, these seeds can be sown as soon as they are collected, but if the weather is bad or the seedbed is not ready, they cannot be sown immediately. At this point, the seeds can be stored in moist sand and placed in a dark place. Once the seeds crack open and reveal a little white, they can be sown.

4. If the seeds have not been stored in sand to promote sprouting, before sowing they can be soaked in a medicinal solution for 30 minutes, then the solution poured off, and the seeds sealed for two hours. Then wash off the medicinal solution adhering to the outside of the seeds with water and soak the seeds in water for 24 hours.

5. Sowing is generally done by dibbling in furrows. First dig furrows with a row spacing of 20 cm to 25 cm, then space the seeds 5 to 7 cm apart. After sowing, cover with a 1.5 cm thick layer of soil, then cover with rice straw to retain moisture.

6. After 20 to 30 days, sprouts will emerge.

2. Cuttage:

1. This method is generally chosen in April to May or September to October, because a temperature of 22°C to 28°C is best.

2. Prepare nutrition pots or flower pots, and use disinfected vermiculite mixed with an equal amount of peat as the growing medium.

3. Select semi-lignified, relatively robust, disease-free branches and cut them on a dewy morning or a cloudy day.

4. Cut the branches into 10 to 15 cm sections, and each section must retain 2 to 3 leaves.

5. Insert the base of the cut branches into a strong rooting agent, with 3 to 5 cm of the base inside it.

6. Then insert one seedling per flower pot. After inserting, water thoroughly, then cover the whole thing with plastic film and place it in a shady spot.
