Methods and Technical Key Points for Pest and Disease Control in Kushui Rose
Rose Rust
When the weather is relatively hot, you can always see rust-like patches on the petals. They are yellow and caused by a certain pathogen. This occurs quite often among roses. Symptoms may appear starting in May, when they are still orange-yellow, but by June and July, many rust-like substances also scatter across the undersides of the leaves and the branches, and in autumn they turn dark brown again. It is relatively likely to appear when rainfall is relatively heavy.
When this happens, first promptly clean away the plants that are already infected and cut off the infected stems and leaves. Second, use a properly prepared pesticide solution for control, once every 10 days, 3 times is enough.
Aphids
This insect can be considered an "overlord" of the insect world. It can devour large amounts of plant stems and leaves, and not only does it directly harm plants, it also carries pathogens from other plants on its body, causing plants to become diseased. It especially likes tender leaves, and this Kushui rose also suffers greatly from it.
Once these small insects are found, if there are only a few, it is fine to remove the insects and spray a little pesticide, but if the number is relatively large, you must be on alert. In severe cases, the entire plant can be pulled up and destroyed. Then spray pesticide for control.
Scarab Beetles
What we call white grubs become scarab beetles after they grow up. However, they are not the little ladybugs that land on window screens in summer. This insect looks relatively similar to a dung beetle, but it is not the same kind of animal. This small insect often gnaws on tender leaves just when the leaves are unfolding, and it is also fairly widely distributed.
Once found, you can catch them by shaking the plants and kill them, and you can also spray appropriate pesticides. If the damage is not very serious, just use trichlorfon directly.
