Five Creative Ways to Grow a Garden at Home

Flowers & Gardening By Emily Carter 0 views

Method One: Hang Them on Both Sides of a Piece of Furniture

Recommended plants: spider plant, pothos

Most indoor plants are placed in vases or pots, then set securely on a tabletop or on the floor. Plants like spider plants are usually placed on a table that is fairly high up.

But you can actually hang plants in the air, and if you have a piece of furniture at home that you really like or want to highlight, you can hang plants on both sides of it, which both adds greenery to the space and draws attention to that piece of furniture.

Method Two: Hang Them from a Rod

Recommended plants: purslane, ivy, trailing succulents

You can put up a rod somewhere in the room, for example between two kitchen cabinets, and then hang the pots from the rod.

However, this method requires a fairly sturdy rod, and the pots are best kept light. In addition, the rope connecting the pot must be strong enough, and you can adjust the length of the rope to control where the pot sits.

Method Three: Put Them in Small Vases, Then Hang Them on the Wall

Recommended plants: roses, wildflowers, lavender

Buy some small vases and hang them on the wall (hanging or sticking), then put a small flower or plant inside each bottle. You can hang a whole row of small bottles as in the picture, but you do not have to put a plant in every bottle; you can fill some and leave some empty. Or you can space the bottles farther apart and then add plants and flowers.

Method Four: Attach Them to a Rope and Hang Them Up

Recommended plants: dried eyebright, dried roses, dried reeds

Dried flowers are also a great choice for decorating a space, and they can keep the original color and shape of fresh flowers for a long time. This method is to hang dried flowers on a rope the way you would hang photos.

You can find a rope with a lot of fuzz (this will make it more distinctive) and hang it on the wall, then use clips or small strings to hang the dried flowers on the rope. You can choose the types and colors of dried flowers to match according to your preference.

Method Five: Plant Them in a Cabinet

Recommended plants: Chinese rose, tulips, hyacinths

A cabinet (or any kind of furniture) can be turned into a very interesting plant installation. Planting flowers and plants inside a cabinet is a really bold idea, but it is worth a try.

However, this method demands a lot of space, and it is best to have a front yard or backyard or a spacious balcony. You can take a cabinet you no longer need and reuse it, paint it a new color, and then plant plants and flowers in it.
