Throw leftover fruit into a flower pot, and surprisingly, it can grow big fruit

1   Pineapple

1. The most important thing for growing a pineapple is a leaf crown left over from eating a pineapple. When buying a pineapple, choose one with an intact leaf crown, especially with healthy leaves in the core. The main way to judge whether the leaf crown is healthy is this: when you gently pull with your hand, the leaves do not come off.

2. Cut off the junction between the leaf crown and the pineapple, without taking along any flesh.

3. From the base of the leaf crown, that is, starting from the small leaves, peel it off layer by layer to expose about 25 mm of white stem.

4. Put the peeled pineapple leaf crown into a bottle, add water up to half the height of the white stem, then place it in front of a windowsill in a spot with bright, indirect light. Remember to change the water in the bottle once every day.

5. After about a few weeks, roots will emerge. When the root system grows to about 5 cm, it can be moved into a flower pot.

6. Transplant the rooted pineapple leaf crown into a flower pot. The soil for growing pineapple must be acidic soil with good drainage; you can mix coconut coir, compost and perlite in a 2:2:1 ratio to make nutrient soil.

7. The leaves begin to gradually grow larger. A newly established pineapple mainly absorbs water and nutrients through its leaves, and is generally watered twice a week. The plant can only be given compound fertilizer once it has grown new leaves, at a concentration of about 1:100. After two months of cultivation, it can be cared for normally.

8. During the growth period, apply compound fertilizer once a week. After 14 months from planting, it can bloom and grow a new pineapple.

2  Guava

1. Go to the supermarket to buy guava, and be sure to choose one that has seeds. Cut the guava open, use a spoon to scoop out the flesh and seeds together, then soak them in water; you can just eat the rest.

2. Rinse the seeds in clean water, without any flesh attached, and scoop the seeds out. According to the number of seeds, choose a suitable flower pot.

3. First put gauze or something similar at the bottom of the pot to prevent soil from leaking out through the holes.

4. Spread a layer of expanded clay pellets at the bottom of the pot.

5. Then put soil on top of the expanded clay pellets. The soil must not be filled too full, because if the potting soil is too full, the seedlings that grow will lack support from the pot edge and will be especially prone to falling over.

6. Arrange all the guava seeds on top. The seeds can be sown while still moist. Then use a spray bottle to spray water onto the seeds so that the water can be evenly sprayed on the seeds.

7. You can use the bottom-watering method for growing. Find a container larger than the flower pot and fill it with water, then place the flower pot in the container with water so that moisture can slowly seep in from the bottom of the pot.

8. After 2 weeks, the seeds have basically all sprouted and grown into small potted plants.

3  Peach Pit

1. After eating a peach, keep the peach pit, then crack open the outer shell and take out the kernel inside.

2. Soak the peach kernel in water, and after the outer membrane has softened, tear off half of the membrane at the pointed end.

3. Prepare a paper towel and a plate.

4. Pour water into the plate, then put the paper towel in, and after the paper towel is completely soaked, pour out the excess water in the plate.

5. Put the peach kernel on the paper towel, fold the paper towel a little to make a crease, and put the pointed part into it a little.

6. Cover the plate with plastic wrap, then place it in a ventilated spot that can receive indirect light for observation.

7. The peach kernel will slowly grow small sprouts.

8. Transplant the sprouted peach kernel into sand or nutrient soil for care, and note that you need to spray water every day to maintain air humidity.

9. The peach kernel will slowly grow, and soon it can become a beautiful potted plant.

10. Maybe after 2-3 years, you will be able to eat peaches!

Actually, besides these few,

Lemon, pomelo, apple, dragon fruit...

Many fruits can be grown into small potted plants from seeds.

Fellow flower lovers might as well give it a try,

After all, being able to eat fruit you grew with your own hands,

always feels especially reassuring.
