Geranium's growing habits

Geranium prefers warm winters and cool summers. Indoors in winter, keep it at 10-15°C during the day and above 8°C at night, and it can bloom normally. But the optimum temperature is 15-20°C.

Geranium likes dry conditions and dislikes dampness. In winter, do not water too much; water only when the soil is dry, and let it dry out between waterings. Soil that is too wet is unfavorable for the sprouting and opening of flower stems; long-term excessive moisture will cause the plant to grow leggy, the position where flower stems form to move upward, and the leaves to gradually turn yellow and drop.

Geranium needs plenty of sunlight during its growing period, so in winter it must be placed in a sunny spot. With insufficient light, the stems and leaves grow leggy, the flower stalks become thin and soft, and the inflorescences develop poorly; when sunlight is insufficient, flower buds often fail to open smoothly and wither prematurely.

Geranium does not like heavy fertilization; too much fertilizer will make geraniums grow excessively and hinder flowering.
