What kind of water makes pothos grow fast? Master the correct watering method
1. Rice water
Many flower lovers surely know this one: watering with rice water can make pothos grow faster. This is because rice water contains a lot of N and P elements, which are greatly beneficial to its growth.
Note that before using it for watering, it needs to be fermented first, to break down the nutrients it contains into inorganic salts. If you water flowers directly with rice water, first, the pothos cannot absorb it; second, it will be decomposed by microorganisms in the potting soil, releasing a large amount of heat that scalds the pothos roots.
Specifically, first pour the rice water into a mineral water bottle, add some chopped orange peel to remove the odor that may be produced during fermentation. Then put it in the sun for about 2 weeks. When you see no white sediment in the bottle, it is ready for watering, once a week.
2. Vitamin C water solution
A vitamin C water solution is slightly acidic, and using it for watering can help lower the soil pH. Pothos likes to grow in a slightly acidic medium, so using a vitamin C water solution to lower the medium's pH can help them grow better and faster.
We can dissolve 1 mg of vitamin C in 500 ml of water, shake it well, and use it to water the flowers. Usually water once every 4-5 days.
3. Diluted yogurt
Because yogurt contains many beneficial bacteria and amino acids, which can provide nutrients for the growth of pothos, we can dilute yogurt and use it for watering or spraying the leaves. This works very well, making pothos grow like crazy and climb the wall rapidly.
When watering the pothos, we can drip a few drops of yogurt into the water and then water. We can also add a few drops of yogurt to the water when misting its leaves. Usually once every 5-7 days is enough.
4. Diluted vinegar
Vinegar is not only acidic but also has a certain sterilizing effect. Dripping a few drops of vinegar into the water before watering can not only lower the soil pH but also play a certain sterilizing role, preventing pests and diseases and making it grow faster and better.
We can drip a few drops of vinegar into the water before watering; be careful not to add too much, then water.
