Recommended edible mushrooms suitable for growing in winter
Oyster mushrooms
Oyster mushrooms, also known as black peony mushrooms, rough-skinned oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus), and so on, are one of our common edible mushrooms. In a suitable environment, they can reproduce and grow without limit.
There are also many varieties, but if distinguished by temperature type, they can be divided into four kinds: wide-temperature type, high-temperature type, medium-temperature type, and low-temperature type.
The wide-temperature type can be grown at temperatures between 4°C and 32°C; the high-temperature type can be grown at temperatures between 15°C and 37°C; the medium-temperature type can be grown at temperatures between 8°C and 24°C; the low-temperature type can be grown at temperatures between 2°C and 22°C. In winter, except for the high-temperature type, which is not suitable for growing, all the others can be grown, but if you are a beginner, then to be safe, choose the wide-temperature type to grow.
Wood ear mushrooms
Wood ear mushrooms, also known as black vegetable cloud ear, smooth wood ear, and so on, are also one of our common fungi.
The most common black wood ear can be cultivated at temperatures of 10°C to 28°C, and we often see plastic bag cultivation methods; while white-backed wood ear requires a higher cultivation temperature, between 13°C and 30°C, and purple wood ear is the same as white-backed wood ear.
Shiitake mushrooms
They are also called winter mushrooms, flower mushrooms, and so on, and are also known as the "king of mountain delicacies," which shows how high their edible value is.
Their cultivation temperature is between 8°C and 22°C. The lower the temperature, the slower the growth rate.
Enoki mushrooms
They are also called frozen mushrooms, small velvet-footed fire mushrooms, and so on, and are a very popular kind of fungus.
They can be divided into two categories by color: one is white, and the other is yellow. The white ones can be cultivated at temperatures of 5°C to 15°C, and the yellow ones can be cultivated at temperatures of 4°C to 24°C. Their artificial cultivation method is also very simple.
