How to extend the blooming period of cyclamen? These care methods are worth knowing

I. Blooming period

Late August to early September is the growing period for cyclamen, and it is best to place it in a ventilated area. As the leaves grow, the nutrients it needs can be gradually increased. When the cyclamen flower buds grow to 1 cm, use an agent that helps it bloom, such as gibberellin solution. But be sure the solution concentration is not too high; going beyond the proper limit will affect its flower shape, and the number of deformed flowers will increase. Its blooming period is from October to May of the following year. During this time, the room temperature should be 12 to 15 degrees Celsius, and the humidity should be above 60% and below 75%. During the blooming period, the soil only needs to be moist; there is no need to water a lot. Fertilizing should also be stopped at this time.

II. How to extend it

To make the flowers last longer, the owner needs to be very careful. As long as these details are paid attention to, regulating the blooming period is not difficult.

1. Some varieties have a light, elegant fragrance, while some types have a strong fragrance. You can choose the variety yourself. If winter is too cold, the petals will look very dull, but it is very cold-tolerant. As long as the temperature is not below 0 degrees Celsius, it will not be harmed. It prefers an environment that is neither too cold nor too hot. If placed indoors, keeping the temperature around 12 degrees Celsius is enough. If your home is in the north and heating is used in winter, be sure to avoid too high a temperature, as it will metabolize more easily.

2. Although not much water is needed during the blooming period, the pot must not be allowed to dry out, otherwise the plant is very likely to topple. If it has rotten or withered leaves, remove them in time to avoid wasting energy.

3. Moving cyclamen will help it pollinate, and it will wither more easily, so it is best to leave it still and reduce touching and shaking it.

4. Light should not be too intense. Since it can bloom in winter, this shows that its demand for light is not very great. At the appropriate time, some fertilizer can be sprinkled, which can also lengthen the blooming period. When fertilizing, pay attention that the solvent ratio is appropriate, and do not sprinkle fertilizer from above the flowers.
