Why Are the Leaves of the Yucca Turning Yellow and How to Fix It
1. Temperature
In fact, this is a very easy plant to grow, and it can tolerate ordinary temperatures, which means that in spring, summer and autumn there is really no big problem. However, it should be noted that this is a plant native to the Americas, so in winter it is best to keep the temperature above 10 degrees Celsius, which will do a good job of preventing the leaves from turning yellow.
2. Improper Watering
This plant is fairly fond of moisture, and yellow leaves are very likely caused by insufficient water supply or soil that is too dry, resulting in the plant lacking water and thus developing yellow, withered leaves. There is also another possibility, which fellow flower growers can probably guess, and that is waterlogging. This situation causes the plant's roots to have difficulty breathing and disrupts the transport of nutrients, which shows up on the leaves as yellowing and wilting. So when watering, be sure to water evenly and control the amount of water sensibly.
3. Too Little Light
It is a light-loving plant, so it is best to give it light at fixed times each day during care. The time should preferably be around three hours. A long-term lack of light is also one of the causes of yellow leaves!
4. Fertilising Mistakes
This is very similar to watering: too much or too little fertiliser can actually cause yellow leaves. You should know that when a plant lacks nutrients, its growth slows and its leaves turn yellow, while too much fertiliser or fertiliser that is too concentrated will cause the plant to suffer fertiliser burn, scorching the roots. When the root system is damaged, the plant will naturally wilt and turn yellow. The solution is the same: carry out fertilising sensibly and appropriately, with the amount of fertiliser based on the size of the pot and the plant.
5. Pests and Diseases
This situation arises when the usual cleaning of the potting soil has not been done well, which then triggers disease. In this case, be sure to treat it with medicine as early as possible, and immediately cut off and remove the diseased plant parts and leaves to prevent it from spreading and worsening.
