Components of spearmint essential oil:

The main components are carvone (about 60%), menthone, isomenthone, pulegone, dihydrocarvone, limonene, phellandrene, pinene, eucalyptol, dihydrocarveol, 3-octanol, octyl acetate, etc.

The main chemical components of spearmint essential oil: pinene, carvone, eucalyptol, linalool, limonene, myrcene, caryophyllene and menthone. Dutch mint essential oil contains only 0.5% menthone, while peppermint contains 40% menthone.

Components of spearmint:

Seven compounds were isolated and identified as ursane, 3-methoxy-4-methylbenzaldehyde, veratric acid, 5-hydroxy-6,7,3',4'-tetramethoxyflavone (trimethoxyflavone, thymonin), diosmetin, 5,6,4'-trihydroxy-7,8,3'-trimethoxyflavone (thymonin) and daucosterol.
