We know that all kinds of things in daily life have remarkable effects on growing flowers, such as vinegar, beer, vitamins and so on. But everyone should know that sugar actually has amazing effects on plants too, let's take a look!

1. Watering flowers

During the plant growing season, you can choose to water with sugar water about once every 15 days; this not only makes plants grow vigorously, but also promotes blooming and vivid flower colors with glossy leaves. Make a solution of 500g water to 3g sugar, and spray the plants with it, but do not spray too many times.

2. Cuttings

When taking cuttings, dip the cuttings into a solution made with white sugar; for herbaceous flowers the sugar ratio is 2%-5%, for woody flowers it is 5%-100%, dip the cuttings to a depth of 2 cm, soak for 24 hours, then rinse the sugar off the cuttings with clean water and they are ready for planting; this can increase the survival rate of cuttings.

3. Cut flowers

During growth, plants need photosynthesis to produce enough sugar to meet their own needs for growth and blooming. But after fresh flowers are cut, because the stem is fairly thin, the original sugar cannot meet the needs of the fresh flowers. At this point you can add some sugar to the vase, which can extend the freshness of the cut flowers; you can also prepare it in advance, and when changing the water use the sugar nutrient solution, which can make the flowers bloom longer and more beautifully!

4. Removing soil nematodes

Sometimes plants die for no apparent reason, and when you dig into the potting soil you can find the cause of the wilting and death; you can see root-knot nematodes in the picture, and you can also check the soil condition normally. You can choose to use sugar to deal with them: pour a solution of 500g water to 15g sugar onto the soil surface; the sugar will promote the reproduction of beneficial microorganisms and beneficial bacteria, thus forming an environment hostile to nematodes, and the nematodes will be indirectly eliminated.

5. Precautions

For the sugar you can choose white sugar, brown sugar or sucrose; everyone understands the principle that even good things should not be overused, so when using it be sure to pay attention to the ratio, otherwise it will cause some harm to plant growth and the loss will outweigh the gain.
