Since ancient times, Christianity has had the custom of linking saints with specific flowers. This came about because when the church commemorates a saint, it often decorates the altar with blooming flowers!

Moreover, in medieval Catholic monasteries, which were like gardening centers, all kinds of flowers were grown. Over time, the church paired the saints of the 366 days with different flowers, forming what is known as a flower calendar. At that time, most monasteries were located in Southern Europe, and Southern Europe has a Mediterranean climate, which is extremely suitable for growing flowers and plants.

Flower meaning: Wisdom

The Latin name of groundsel is: Senecio. It comes from the word senex, meaning old man. In other words, it symbolizes the intelligence and wisdom gained from rich life experience. Therefore, the flower meaning of groundsel is wisdom.

Capricorns are pessimistic by nature and understand the helplessness of life's impermanence, like an old person nearing the end of life sighing that people are no longer as virtuous as they once were and that the ways of the world have grown cold. People born under the blessing of this flower possess a mature charm and deep foresight. It is just that when facing love they may shrink back a little, and occasionally they should be more proactive.
