Many people like to grow some flowers and plants at home. Now spring has quietly arrived, and many small pests are already stirring. Once a pest infestation occurs, it not only affects the appearance but may even directly kill the plants, which is very distressing. Below, the editor has put together several small pest-control methods, so hurry up and learn them!

Red spider mite

Once a plant is infested with red spider mites, the leaves will turn yellow and curl. If not discovered in time, it may directly cause the flowers to die.

To kill red spider mites, a piece of soap can solve the problem. First cut the soap into several pieces, then put the soap into hot water to melt it into a solution. Then mix the melted solution with clean water at a ratio of 1:50 and stir evenly, put it into a spray bottle, and spray the plants until wet. The leaves must be sprayed on both the front and back, and spray about once every 5 days.

Scale insects

Scale insects almost always appear on the leaves of succulents, which makes the succulent leaves turn yellow and lose all vitality, and may also cause sooty mold, so scale insects must be eliminated in time.

To deal with scale insects, only a bottle of alcohol is needed. If there are only a few scattered scale insects on the leaves, then just dip a cotton swab in alcohol and gently wipe the leaves. After wiping several times, the scale insects will basically disappear.

If there are already a lot of scale insects, spray the alcohol directly onto the leaves. Spraying several times will not only directly kill the scale insects but also kill their eggs. Succulents getting pests is basically caused by not paying attention to ventilation, so be sure to pay attention to ventilation.

Aphids

If you have Chinese roses at home, you should see them often. If you ever see aphids, be sure to kill them in time, because their reproductive capacity is too strong, and with a little inattention they will cover the whole plant.

To kill aphids, only some plant ash is needed. First collect plant ash, then mix and stir it evenly with clean water at a ratio of 1:5, then put it into a spray bottle, and spray it onto the leaves. Note that both the front and back of the leaves should be sprayed. Spray about once every 4 days, and after about 3 consecutive sprays, the aphids can be killed.

Snails and other mollusks

Snails can always be found on the newly sprouted tender buds or petals of plants, so if you find snails, you must kill them. Do not be soft-hearted just because they are cute.

To kill mollusks, only some edible salt is needed. Everyone knows that mollusks have relatively high moisture in their skin, and too much contact with salt will cause dehydration and death. Besides salt, you can also scatter eggshells onto the potting soil, because eggshells are relatively sharp, and mollusks will not dare to approach the plants!
