Other names for the white crystal chrysanthemum
The white crystal chrysanthemum, also known as little white chrysanthemum or crystal chrysanthemum, is a biennial herbaceous flowering plant in the Asteraceae family.
Growing habits of the white crystal chrysanthemum
The white crystal chrysanthemum likes a sunny and cool environment; in environments with insufficient light, it blooms poorly and is prone to dying.
The white crystal chrysanthemum is cold-tolerant but not heat-tolerant. The most suitable temperature for growth is 15~25°C. In winter it can overwinter safely at -5°C, but if kept at -5°C for a long time in winter, the leaves are easily damaged by freezing, drying up and turning yellow; however, as the temperature rises, it will gradually recover, form buds and bloom.
The white crystal chrysanthemum does not like a hot and humid environment. When the temperature rises in summer, the flowers will gradually wither, and above 30°C it will grow poorly. It should be placed in a cool, ventilated environment, which can appropriately extend the blooming period.
The white crystal chrysanthemum is highly adaptable and not very picky about soil (not picky, but it still has requirements). It is suitable for planting in loose, fertile sandy soil. Keep the soil moist at ordinary times, and during the growing season apply a nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer once every half month.
The white crystal chrysanthemum has a relatively long blooming period. When it blooms, supplement phosphorus and potassium fertilizer in time; after the flowers fade, promptly cut off the spent flowers to promote the sprouting of new buds.
