Growth habits of the jade plant
The jade plant is native to southern Africa. It is a succulent plant in the Crassulaceae family, genus Crassula.
The jade plant prefers a warm, dry, and ventilated environment. It has poor cold resistance, likes sunlight, and is slightly tolerant of semi-shade.
After growing for many years, the jade plant will develop into a shrub, with obviously woody stems and opposite fleshy leaves that grow densely at the top of the stem or branches. The fleshy leaves are long ovate, slightly curved inward, with a slight leaf tip. The leaf color ranges from green to red-green and is glossy. When the temperature difference is large, the leaf edges turn red while the leaf center remains green, which is very beautiful. Proper water control and strong light exposure can make the entire plant take on a very beautiful red-green color. Under normal cultivation, the color is green with a bit of red edge; under insufficient light, the plant appears green. The flowers bloom in clusters, and the small flowers are white or white-pink. It is cross-pollinated and does not bloom easily.
The symbolic meaning of the jade plant
The jade plant has an upright and graceful crown, green stems and leaves, and white flowers at the top, making it very elegant and unique. Therefore, its symbolic meaning is good fortune and auspiciousness.
