High summer temperatures are a challenge for most flowers, but summer-blooming Phalaenopsis, with their strong heat tolerance and long flowering period, become a top choice for summer viewing. Below are several quality varieties and care tips to help everyone grow them with ease.

Canxue (Residual Snow): A small-flowered type with abundant blooms and a long flowering period, with flowers continuously on the stems. Outstanding heat and sun tolerance, petals with a bright sparkle, and a natural flowering period of up to half a year. Pruning the flower spikes after blooming can encourage repeat flowering.

Zi Shuixian (Purple Narcissus): Flower diameter about 6 cm, petals diamond-shaped with a fine sparkle, and the inflorescence is neat and attractive. Good heat tolerance, with a relatively long single-flower period; avoid harsh direct sun during care.

Lan Xing (Blue Star): A fresh flower shape with good heat tolerance, suited to summer conditions, and able to stay in good condition under high temperatures.

Xiao Hui Zi (Little Fennel Purple): A unique flower shape with both shade tolerance and heat tolerance; it can flower normally even in slightly low-light conditions.

Jin Die (Golden Butterfly): A medium-flowered type with warm yellow petals and delicate veining, strong heat tolerance, stable flowering at around 30°C3-4 months, suitable for placing on balconies and windowsills.

Yu Linglong (Jade Exquisite): An elegant flower shape, with white petals edged in a light pink blush; heat tolerant and fairly disease resistant, easy to care for in summer, with a long single-flower period.

Care Methods

Light: Bright, indirect light is needed; avoid direct sun. In summer, it can be placed on an east-/west-facing balcony or windowside.

Watering: Grow in sphagnum moss; water thoroughly only after it dries out, avoid waterlogging, and using the soak-and-drain method to replenish water is safer.

Fertilizing: Use a high-phosphorus fertilizer before flowering and a balanced fertilizer during the growing season, 1-2 times per month, diluted 2000 times.

Temperature: The optimum growing temperature is 18-30°C; in summer, when it exceeds 32°C, increase ventilation and mist with water to cool it down.
