Key precautions after repotting a Phalaenopsis orchid and what it fears most
You finally finished repotting your Phalaenopsis, and just a few days later the leaves turn yellow and the roots rot? Don't let all your hard work go to waste! Here we'll talk about aftercare following repotting"cardinal sins"

Phalaenopsis roots absolutely hate being smothered! If the pot holds standing water after repotting, the roots will turn black and rot within a few days!
Pitfall guide:
1.Choose a plastic pot with large drainage holes/clay pot, don't use a ceramic pot!
2.Just copy this soil mix: pine bark+perlite+leaf mold (5:3:2), the drainage is simply amazing!
3.Before watering, scrape back the surface soil first; water only when it has turned white, and if in doubt water less rather than more!

2.Stuffy, enclosed cultivation
In a poorly ventilated environment, a Phalaenopsis will develop black spots and turn yellow all over in no time!
Correct approach:
1.Place it by a window, on a balcony or in another well-ventilated spot, and open the window every day for air;
2.air-conditioned room/for indoor growing, run a small fan on a gentle breeze, but don't blow it directly!

3.Full sun
Phalaenopsis likes bright, indirect light. After repotting, full sun will at best scorch the leaf edges and at worst cut the blooming period short and send the plant straight to "scrap heap"!
Note:
1.Place it1 m away from a south window in bright, indirect light, and an east/north windowsill is also perfect;
2.In summer, hang a sheer curtain to block out the scorching sun!

4.Moving it around
A Phalaenopsis that has just been repotted needs time to adapt to its new environment. Move it around frequently and of course it will wilt!
Remember:
1.Once you've chosen a spot, don't move it; stable temperature and light matter more than anything;
2.Don't fuss over it unless you have to; wait until it grows new roots and new leaves before making small adjustments!

5. Watering
When repotting, the roots have wounds, and if you water too much, root rot can strike at any moment!
Watering tips:
1.Insert a bamboo skewer into the soil, and water again only when it comes out dry;
2.Pour slowly along the edge of the pot, and don't let it get into the crown of the leaves! Open the window for ventilation right after watering!

In short, a Phalaenopsis is quite fragile after repotting, so everyone needs to be a little more patient!
