What drought-tolerant plants bloom easily even with little watering?
In today's busy modern life, many people long to have a sea of flowers of their own, but the frequent watering and care work puts them off. In fact, quite a few drought-tolerant plants that bloom easily exist in nature; they can produce brilliant flowers without much care, adding color to life.
Many varieties in the succulent family are little experts at being drought-tolerant and blooming. Take Lithops as an example; it enjoys the reputation of "the stone that blooms." Lithops looks much like a pebble and is endearingly chubby. During care, there is no need to water frequently; overwatering will instead cause its roots to rot. Every autumn, Lithops sends up daisy-like flowers from the gap at the top, in a rich range of colors including white and yellow, blooming quietly in a dry environment and bringing unexpected delight. Likewise, the ball cactus is also a typical representative of drought-tolerant, flowering succulents. The ball cactus is covered in sharp spines that effectively reduce water evaporation. Its water needs are extremely low; even without watering for one or two months, it can still survive. When it enters its blooming period, it produces huge flowers at the top, with dazzling colors; the flowers of some varieties can reach a diameter of over ten cm. Although the blooming period is short, it is stunningly beautiful, making people marvel at the tenacity and beauty of life.

Desert rose (Adenium obesum) is also an outstanding choice for being drought-tolerant and blooming easily. It originates from desert regions, and its thick, fleshy stem can store a large amount of water; even without watering for a long time, it can grow relying on the water it has stored. The flowers of the desert rose resemble small trumpets, in colors such as rose red and pink, with abundant blooms and a long blooming period; in spring and summer it can keep blooming for several months. Placed on a balcony or in a courtyard, its ardent flowers are especially dazzling in the sunlight, as if the passion of the desert had been brought close to you.

Moss rose (Portulaca grandiflora) is a drought-tolerant, flowering plant well known to the public. Its vitality is extremely tenacious; it can grow even in poor, dry soil. Moss rose does not demand much water; in daily care, keeping the soil slightly dry is enough. Its flowers are small and exquisite, in a riot of colors including red, orange and purple, opening in competition with one another when there is plenty of sunlight, as if spreading a colorful flower carpet over the ground. Moreover, moss rose has strong reproductive capacity, and cuttings root with an extremely high survival rate; pick off a stem segment casually and insert it into the soil, and it will soon take root, sprout and bloom.

Geranium (Pelargonium) is also one of the drought-tolerant plants that bloom easily. Its leaf surface has a layer of fine hairs that can reduce water evaporation, giving it fairly strong drought tolerance. Geraniums come in many varieties, with flowers of different forms, some spherical and some umbel-like. The flower colors are rich, including red, pink and purple. During care, keep the soil moderately dry and provide ample light, and geraniums can keep blooming from spring all the way to autumn.

These drought-tolerant, easy-blooming plants, with their tenacious vitality and beautiful flowers, bring a unique scenery to our lives. Even people with little care experience, or who have no time to look after plants, can easily have a sea of flowers of their own and feel the vitality and beauty that plants bring.
