How is the Phalaenopsis Bologna variety? Does it have a long blooming period?

I was recently blown away by Phalaenopsis Bologna. As a European Phalaenopsis bred by Anthura, it not only has stunning looks but is also very easy to care for, so even beginners can handle it with ease. Phalaenopsis Bologna is a medium-flowered variety, with each bloom measuring 7-8 cm across. What is most remarkable is its waxy petals, which feel thick and substantial

Phalaenopsis Bologna is a medium-flowered variety, with each bloom measuring 7 - 8cm across. What stands out most is its waxy petals, which feel thick and substantial to the touch. Compared with common orange-toned Phalaenopsis such as Ponkan and Kumquat, Phalaenopsis Bologna's flower color carries a vintage brown tone, making it richer and more vivid, and accented with faintly visible veining, it instantly delivers a high-end look.

Under normal care, a single bloom of Phalaenopsis Bologna lasts as long as 2 - 3months, and the whole plant's ornamental period can last 4 - 6months. It also reblooms readily; with good care after the flowers fade, you can soon enjoy a full pot of romance again.

Many growers worry it's hard to keep in summer? Don't worry. Master these few tips and Phalaenopsis Bologna will still stay in top form.

Light: Once it exceeds 28°C, quickly pull up a shade net. Place Phalaenopsis Bologna on an east or west balcony or by a south-facing window, draw the sheer curtain, and let it get 2 - 3hours of bright indirect light, otherwise the petal edges can easily get scorched.

Watering: Better dry than wet. In summer, Phalaenopsis Bologna goes into a semi-dormant state, so you have to "steel yourself" when watering. Water only when the potting medium feels completely dry, roughly once every 10 - 15days. The soak-and-drain method is safest; set the water level at 5cm10minutes, then drain well. Never pour water into the leaf crown.

Ventilation: Open the windows for ventilation for more than 3hours every day, or use a small fan on low speed to keep the air moving. A hot, stuffy environment easily breeds pathogens, but with good ventilation, root rot and black spots will all retreat.

Fertilizing: Apply weak fertilizer often; once a month, use orchid special fertilizer diluted 1part to 1000parts water, and pour it around the edge of the pot, not touching the roots. Before the flowering season, switch to Huaduoduo No. 2 to promote flower bud differentiation.

Notes

1Don't use ordinary soil to plant it! Use a mix of bark +sphagnum moss +expanded clay pebbles, which is airy and prevents root rot.

2.If you notice yellowing leaves or root rot, isolate and treat it immediately to avoid spreading.

3.In an air-conditioned room, don't let it be hit by direct airflow; keep it at least 1m away from the vent; too great a temperature difference can easily cause bud drop.
