Today I would like to introduce to you a charming flower - Asahi Phalaenopsis

Asahi Phalaenopsis is a medium-sized flower, with bright yellow petals and a red lip. The color gradually blends and gradients from the lip toward the edges of the petals. This unique shape also makes it regarded as an auspicious flower symbolizing rapid success and prosperity, making it especially suitable to place at home.

The flowering period of Asahi Phalaenopsis is quite long, and it is not too difficult to grow, so even beginners can easily handle it. Under normal care, it can bloom continuously from the turn of autumn and winter all the way to the late spring of the following year3 - 4 months. But if it is cared for properly, with suitable temperature, light and nutrients provided, the flowering period may even be extended!

If you notice yellowing leaves during care, it may be because watering is too frequent, causing waterlogging and root rot. At this time, stop watering immediately, take the plant out of the pot, cut off the rotten roots, disinfect them, and replant in a breathable growing medium. If it is sunburn from too strong light, move it to a place with plenty of diffused light

Daily care:

Watering: Follow the principle of "water thoroughly only after the medium dries out". Wait until the surface of the growing medium is dry, then water thoroughly. Usually water 1 to 2 times per week, depending on the environmental humidity.

Light: Asahi Phalaenopsis prefers bright diffused light. The best position is indoors near a window but not in direct sunlight.

Fertilizing: During the growing season, apply a diluted orchid-specific fertilizer once every 1 to 2 weeks. Increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer before the flowering period, which helps the formation of flower buds.

Temperature: The most suitable growing temperature is 18 to 28 degrees Celsius. In winter, it must never go below 10 degrees Celsius, otherwise it is prone to cold damage.

Notes:

 1. When watering, avoid letting water droplets splash onto the center of the leaves, to prevent rot at the leaf center.

 2. The best time to repot is after the flowering period ends, as this has the least impact on the plant.

 3. Keep the air humidity between 60% and 80%
