Is the Phalaenopsis Lafite a large-flowered or small-flowered variety, and is it pretty?
Today I'd like to share with you a lesser-known Phalaenopsis variety - Lafite

Phalaenopsis Lafite is a medium-sized flower with waxy petals that feel wonderfully rich and look thoroughly upscale. Its leaves are round and thick, and its deep wine-red petals paired with a bright pink small column give it an air of luxury with a playful touch; its velvety texture makes it uniquely beautiful. Place it in a room and the style is instantly elevated!

Phalaenopsis Lafiteusually blooms in winter and spring, with the flowering period typically lasting around 2 - 3months, and with proper care it can even last longer!

For everyday watering of Phalaenopsis Lafite, follow the principle of "water when dry, and water thoroughly when you do."Feel the potting medium with your hand; water only when it is dry, and water thoroughly each time. Never let water accumulate, or root rot will be a real problem! In spring and autumn, water about once a week; in summer, when water evaporates quickly, water once every 3 - 5days; in winter, when temperatures are low, once every 10 - 15days is fine. The timing of watering also matters: in spring and autumn, choose morning or evening; in summer, avoid the midday heat; in winter, do it at warm midday.

Phalaenopsis Lafite likes a warm environment15 - 25°C in winter, keep it warm and do not let the temperature drop below 10°C, otherwise its growth will be affected. As for light, it does not need very strong direct sunlight; a spot with bright, indirect light is fine, such as indoors near a window but where the sun does not shine directly. Too-strong light will scorch the leaves and flowers

The potting medium must be well aerated a mix of sphagnum moss and bark works very well and lets the roots breathe freely. Fertilize lightly and often: during the growing season, apply a diluted orchid-specific liquid fertilizer once every 1 - 2weeks to promote plant growth; before the flowering period, add extra phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, such as monopotassium phosphate, diluted and sprayed on the leaves or watered into the roots, to make the flower spikes sturdy and the blooms large and vivid

After the flowers fade, promptly cut off the spent blooms3 - 4th node, which reduces nutrient consumption. Move Phalaenopsis Lafite to a spot with indirect light and good ventilation; do not expose it to harsh sun. Apply a diluted orchid-specific fertilizer once every 1 - 2weeks to replenish the nutrients used up by flowering. If you notice the potting medium has degraded, repot it with fresh, well-aerated medium so the roots have a better growing environment. When the temperature is right, it may even bloom another round!
In short, as long as you master these key points, you can get Phalaenopsis Lafite to bloom year after year!
