Phalaenopsis Huang Guifei is a medium-flowered phalaenopsis with delicate blooms. The goose-yellow petals have a warm, gentle luster. A white center pairs with a purplish-red lip, the center of the petals carries a faint red blush, and the lower petals are even dotted with red speckles, making it both breathtakingly beautiful and unique.

The blooming period of Phalaenopsis Huang Guifei usually lasts 2 - 3months, and with good care it can even reach 4months. However, the length of the blooming period is affected by factors such as ambient temperature and light. At a suitable temperature of 15 - 25°C, the blooming period can be effectively extended; if the temperature is too high or too low, the flowers may wither early.

Recently, as spring temperatures rise, Phalaenopsis Huang Guifei grows faster and its water needs increase. But watering should not be done carelessly. When you see the potting medium on the surface of the pot turn slightly white, it is time to water. The best time to water is around 10in the morning, when the water temperature is close to room temperature and will not shock the plant's roots. Water thoroughly so the potting medium fully absorbs the water, but never let water accumulate. A spray bottle is recommended to water slowly along the edge of the pot, so the stream does not hit the roots directly.

Things to Note

1.Light: Phalaenopsis Huang Guifei likes bright, indirect light. Spring sunlight is soft, so you can place it near a south-facing windowsill and make sure it gets 4 - 6hours of light a day. But avoid direct strong light, or the leaves and flowers will get sunburned.

2.Ventilation: A well-ventilated environment can reduce the breeding of pests and diseases. You can open the windows often to let fresh air into the room. But do not place it in a draft, to prevent cold wind from freezing and damaging the plant.

3.Fertilizing: Spring is the peak growing season for phalaenopsis, so you can apply a diluted liquid fertilizer once every 1 - 2weeks to supplement the plant's nutrients. But during the bud stage, reduce the amount of nitrogen fertilizer and increase phosphorus and potassium fertilizer to promote flower bud differentiation.
