Phalaenopsis new roots growing out of the pot and very few roots, how to care for it?

My window faces west, and the sun comes in after 2 PM. If I don't add some shading, the sunlight will shine directly on the Phalaenopsis leaves."

Regarding the flower enthusiast's question above, the editor thinks that given the current temperature in Wuhan, there is no need to provide extra warmth for the Phalaenopsis. However, your west-facing balcony may get a bit too much sun, especially in the afternoon, which can easily scorch the leaves. It is suggested to stick a thin sheet of white paper on the window glass to slightly shade the sunlight. If you have already been growing this Phalaenopsis for a long time, then don't bother moving it elsewhere; just add some small equipment and adjustments.

Also, it is important to note that the pot for growing orchids should not be chosen too large. The best size is a small pot into which healthy roots wrapped in sphagnum moss can just barely fit. Otherwise, when wrapping with sphagnum moss, if the pot is too large, it will easily come loose. As for humidity, if the medium looks slightly moist, that means there is no need to water. If later you find new roots growing out of the pot, remember to tuck them back into the pot.

If your orchid was just bought and brought home about a month ago, in this situation try to keep the sphagnum moss in a relatively dry state, but do not let it dry out completely. The specific approach is to not water at first, and once the surface of the sphagnum moss is dry, use a spray bottle to spray a little water.

If the Phalaenopsis has very few roots, or no roots at all, but the leaves are large, soft, and drooping, then put it into the goldfish bowl and use the water vapor in the fish tank to slow down the plant's dehydration and help it recover faster.
