In terms of flower form, the Santiago Phalaenopsis is a small to medium-sized type, delicate and compact, yet it produces an astonishingly large number of blooms, with many branches and many flowers, plus plenty of side branching. Its pink petals are dotted with red stripes, and together with the vivid purplish-red center of the flower, it is showy and distinctive.

Now look at its leaves: slender and showing a dark reddish-brown color, they set off the flowers beautifully and make it look even more distinctive. It also has many leaves and an especially well-developed root system, so the plant looks robust and full of vitality. During everyday care, you never have to worry about it dropping buds at the slightest thing, which makes it easy and effortless.

The flowering period of the Santiago Phalaenopsis is truly very long, generally lasting 2to3months, and with good care, even longer!

Spring Care Tips

Light: The Santiago Phalaenopsis loves bright, indirect light. Spring sunlight is gentle, so you can place it on a south-facing windowsill and let it enjoy 4to5hours of light a day, but be sure to avoid scorching sun, so the leaves don't get damaged.

Watering: Follow the principle of "moderate moisture, neither too dry nor too wet." Spring is its golden growing season, so you can water a little more often, about 1to2times a week. When watering, slowly water thoroughly along the edge of the pot, and avoid water pooling in the crown of the plant, to prevent crown rot.

Fertilizing: Spring is the peak growing season, so apply a diluted orchid-specific liquid fertilizer once every 1to2weeks, with light, frequent feeds, to help it root quickly and store up energy for blooming.

Temperature: Keeping it between 18and28°C is ideal. Spring temperatures vary a lot, so pay attention to keeping it warm at night and protect it from the cold.

Care Tips

1. Ventilation is crucial! Good ventilation prevents pests and diseases and keeps the plant more robust. You can open the windows often for fresh air, or place a small fan nearby and let it blow gently.

2. Do not repot too often. Unless the roots have filled the pot, try not to repot in spring, so as not to damage the roots and affect growth and blooming.

3. Do not change its location too often. Phalaenopsis orchids need time to adapt to a new environment, and frequent moving will affect blooming.
