Why do Phalaenopsis leaves crack, and can they still recover?
I believe many people have seen the light, dancing little butterfly-like flower shape of Phalaenopsis after it blooms, and its flower colors are especially rich, so it can easily win everyone's affection. That is why many people long to grow a few pots of it, especially when gathering with close relatives and friends, placing it in the most prominent spot in the room as the "centerpiece" of decoration is really very suitable.

However, when growing Phalaenopsis, a common headache is that split leaves are a big problem, because whether it can bloom well later all depends on them.

I believe that when many people grow Phalaenopsis, the leaves will certainly have at least some problems, and the most frequently mentioned problem is a crack in the leaf. In fact, if only one leaf on a plant has split in the middle, it is not a big deal.

Generally speaking, orchids in the hands of flower farmers are grown in greenhouses, where the temperature is relatively constant (humidity above 60%, light about 4000 to 7000 lux, temperature around 18-22 degrees). At this time it grows very vigorously, and the leaves are crisp and tender. When flower lovers buy it and take it home, because the temperature, humidity and other aspects are different, the plant becomes sensitive, and the leaves also become fragile. At this time, if you move it a little carelessly, or bump it once, it may bend inward a little, and finally crack open with a "crack".

Although cracked leaves do affect the appearance, there is no need to be nervous. Here is a tip for you: just put it in a slightly drier place, and after about one or two days, it has its own self-healing ability. After it slowly recovers, that crack will become smaller and smaller, just like a wound forming a scab in humans.

At the same time, as long as it is cared for properly afterward, including giving reasonable scattered light, using the standard of letting the soil dry and then watering thoroughly, keeping temperature and humidity in a reasonable range, not letting water remain at the bottom of the pot after watering, and applying fertilizer before the flowering period, then Phalaenopsis will surely become as full of energy and beautiful as before.
