Care and maintenance methods for fresh flowers after hydration
Reviving flowers can bring them back to life, and the proper care that follows reviving determines how long and how well they bloom. Only by mastering scientific flower care methods can this beauty be sustained for a long time.

To care for flowers, you first need to choose a suitable container. A transparent glass vase is a common choice, as it makes it easy to observe the water level and the condition of the stems. The height of the vase should match the flowers, generally one-third to one-half of their height. For roses, a vase 20 - 30cm tall will do; for flowers with long stems like lilies, 30 - 40cm is more suitable. At the same time, remember to wash the vase once every 1 - 2days to prevent bacteria from growing.

Water quality has a major effect on the growth of cut flowers. It is best to use purified water, or let tap water sit for 1 - 2days before use, which can prevent the chlorine in the water from harming the flowers. It is best to keep the water temperature at 18 - 25°C, as being close to room temperature helps the flowers absorb water. When caring for flowers, keep the water level in the vase at one-third to one-half, check every day and replenish the water in time, ensuring the stems stay submerged in water. Also, change the water once every 1 - 2days; in summer, when temperatures are high, it is best to change it every day to keep the water clean.

There is also an art to where you place flowers. They should be placed in a bright spot but away from direct sunlight, as strong sunlight speeds up water evaporation and shortens the blooming period. At the same time, keep them away from air-conditioner vents, heaters and other heat sources and vents, since temperatures in these places are unstable and will affect the growth of the flowers. They should also be kept away from fruit, whose released ethylene gas accelerates the wilting of flowers.

If you want to extend the life of cut flowers, you can add a suitable preservative. Preservatives come in two types: commercial and homemade. Commercial ones have clear ingredients and stable effects, and you can simply add them according to the instructions. For homemade ones, add 1 - 2spoons of white sugar and 10 - 15drops of white vinegar or lemon juice to 500ml of water. The white sugar provides energy, while the white vinegar and lemon juice adjust the pH of the water and inhibit bacteria. In addition, every 1 - 2days, use sharp scissors to cut 1 - 2cm off the bottom of the stems at an angle in the water, which can increase water uptake.
While caring for flowers, you should also always watch their condition and promptly remove withered and fading flowers and leaves so they do not affect the other blooms. Once pests or diseases are found, treat them immediately with a dedicated insecticide or fungicide.
In short, as long as you master the correct flower care methods, cut flowers can bloom in their most brilliant glory and add more beauty to life.
