Many people gradually fall in love with Phalaenopsis orchids while growing flowers, not only because they symbolize good fortune and beauty during the New Year festivals, but also because Phalaenopsis is a plant that can keep blooming. Many people gradually fall in love with Phalaenopsis orchids while growing flowers, not only because they symbolize good fortune and beauty during the New Year festivals, but also because Phalaenopsis is a plant that can keep blooming. So how can you make Phalaenopsis bloom profusely year after year?

The first task in caring for Phalaenopsis is to choose a suitable substrate; the substrate here usually refers to the growing medium. If you find during care that the medium drains poorly or has poor air permeability, it will affect the orchid's vigor later on. Therefore, it is recommended to replace the substrate regularly to ensure that water can drain quickly and maintain suitable moisture.

The next task is to provide suitable lighting conditions for Phalaenopsis. Its light requirement is about 1500 to 3000 lux, which is equivalent to an indoor environment near a window but not directly exposed to sunlight. Therefore, it is recommended to place it indoors near a window, and you can also use a shade net for moderate shading. In addition, as the seasons change, adjusting the light duration is necessary. For example, in spring and autumn of the four seasons, the light duration can be appropriately extended; in summer, avoid the strong sunlight at midday, while in winter you need to ensure sufficient light while avoiding cold wind (at this time you can cover it with a plastic bag, and if the light is good, cut a few holes in it to let light through).

Then, to ensure the healthy growth of Phalaenopsis, temperature and humidity also matter. The ideal temperature range should be between 18°C and 30°C, while humidity should be kept between 60% and 80%. For precise monitoring, everyone can add tools that help measure temperature and humidity to achieve accurate monitoring.

Finally, the growth of every plant must follow the correct watering and fertilizing methods. Generally speaking, when watering, the soil surface should be kept slightly dry, usually watering once every 4 to 5 days, and at the same time make sure the soil does not become excessively dry, keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged. As for fertilizing, you can decide which fertilizer to add based on the soil's pH value and nutrient content. Common fertilizers for Phalaenopsis include nutrient elements containing nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, note that during the winter dormant period, fertilizing should be appropriately reduced or stopped.
