Is Phalaenopsis 'Suxin' a large-flowered type, and is it the same variety as 'Qingmei Zhuma'?
Phalaenopsis Suxin is a very distinctive orchid variety that is highly sought after among flower enthusiasts.

Phalaenopsis Suxin also goes by the name Violet. Among pink-purple phalaenopsis, this highly saturated rose-red color, paired with a white center, looks as if it comes with its own highlight effect, bright and dazzling yet still elegant. Its flowers are especially large, reaching 8.5 - 9cm in diameter. The petals are thick and feel velvety, with a rich texture. The whole plant looks robust and tall, and it instantly stands out in a crowd of flowers.

Phalaenopsis Suxin blooms relatively easily. Its flower spikes are usually quite thick and sturdy, able to support a good number of flowers. In suitable conditions, a single spike can produce 8to12flowers. What is more, Phalaenopsis Suxin has a long flowering period, generally lasting 2to3months. As long as it is cared for properly, it can produce stunning blooms during the flowering season.

Phalaenopsis Suxin and Phalaenopsis Qingmei Zhuma are not the same variety, and although they look very similar, the flowers of Phalaenopsis Suxin are lighter in color than those of Phalaenopsis Qingmei Zhuma.

In terms of care, Phalaenopsis Suxin grows best at temperatures between 18and28°C. When summer temperatures get too high, be sure to improve ventilation and cool things down to avoid heat damage to the plant; in winter, when temperatures are lower, take good measures to keep it warm and prevent cold injury. It likes a semi-shaded environment. You can place it somewhere indoors that is bright but out of direct sunlight, such as the living room or beside a window. When the summer sun is intense, provide some shade; in winter, you can let it receive some gentle sunlight.

Phalaenopsis Suxin has relatively high water requirements. Generally, water it once a week, and water thoroughly each time, avoiding waterlogging. When watering, pay attention to the water temperature, and do not let it be too cold. In addition, air humidity should also be kept at a high level, and you can increase air humidity by misting and similar methods. During the growing season, apply a dilute liquid fertilizer once every half month. In winter, reduce the amount of fertilizer.

Phalaenopsis Suxin grows best in loose, airy, well-draining soil. You can choose a specialized orchid mix, or make your own by blending moss, bark and similar materials. After flowering, promptly prune the spent flowers. Cut off the flower spikes and withered leaves, which reduces nutrient consumption and promotes plant growth.
