In winter, indoor air tends to be fairly dry and the temperature relatively low. If you want cut flowers to bloom for longer, pay attention to the following aspects:

Temperature control

Maintain a suitable room temperature: Indoor temperature is best kept between 15°C and 25°C. Avoid placing cut flowers near radiators, air-conditioning vents and other places with large temperature fluctuations, so the flowers are not damaged by sudden temperature changes.

Avoid excessive temperature differences: When the temperature difference between indoors and outdoors is large, such as when opening windows for ventilation, move the cut flowers to a relatively stable environment to prevent the flowers from being chilled or losing water due to the large temperature difference.

Humidity adjustment

Increase air humidity: Indoor air is dry in winter. You can raise the humidity by using a humidifier, placing a basin of water beside the flower pot, or wiping the leaves with a damp cloth, creating a moist environment for the cut flowers.

Avoid excessive dryness: Avoid placing cut flowers in drafty spots or near heat sources, to prevent excessive water evaporation. You can mist the flowers and leaves regularly, but be careful not to let water accumulate on the flowers, as this may cause them to rot.

Light management

Provide plenty of indirect light: Place the cut flowers in a bright spot indoors, such as near a south-facing window, so they receive plenty of indirect light. This helps the flowers photosynthesize and stay vivid.

Avoid direct strong light: Winter sunlight is relatively weak, but on sunny days you still need to keep the cut flowers out of direct strong light to prevent the flowers from being scorched.

Proper care

Change the water and trim regularly: Generally change the water every 2 to 3 days. When changing the water, wash the vase and the stems, and cut 1 to 2 cm off the bottom of the stems to keep them able to absorb water.

Add a preservative: Add an appropriate amount of cut-flower preservative or nutrient solution to the water, mixed according to the ratio in the instructions, to provide the flowers with the necessary nutrients and extend their vase life.
