What is the difference between forget-me-not and lavender? Are they the same flower?
Many people probably keep some dried flowers at home to decorate the indoor atmosphere. Among them, the most common dried flowers on the flower market, forget-me-not and lavender, are among the easiest to confuse. The reason is that their flower colors are similar, and at the same time the two flowers are about the same height.

Although forget-me-not and lavender look similar at a glance in flower color, if you put the two flowers side by side, their flowers are different. Forget-me-not flowers are relatively larger than lavender, lavender flowers are like grains of rice, and forget-me-not has petals that bloom in connected clusters. In addition, the flower color of lavender is darker than that of forget-me-not, and at the same time lavender has slightly fewer color options, with only pink, blue and so on, while forget-me-not comes in purple, pink, purplish red, orange-yellow, yellow, white and many more.

If you lean in and smell it with your nose, the fragrance of forget-me-not is very faint, almost unnoticeable, while compared with it, lavender's scent is very rich, because it basically has oil glands all over its body, and when touched, the oil glands break and the fragrance pours out. As long as you grow it at home, you can smell the lavender fragrance as soon as you open the door.
In addition, the growing environments of forget-me-not and lavender are also a bit different. The former, forget-me-not, can survive in a care environment of around 15℃, likes a dry environment, and likes loose and breathable soil; during care, as long as the temperature is kept roughly stable, it will be helped to bloom normally. As for the latter, lavender, it likes light and fears high temperatures and waterlogging, and is very thirsty for light, so full-sun care is best. At the same time, note that when lavender is receiving sunlight, never splash water on the plant, otherwise it is prone to pests and rot.

Besides the differences in flowers, fragrance and growing environment, the effects and uses of forget-me-not and lavender are also very different. Among them, forget-me-not can be used for effects such as beauty care, tonifying the kidney and nourishing the blood, while lavender can be added as essential oil to ointments, pillows, herbal tea, face masks, essential oils and so on, and besides helping to calm the mind and aid sleep, it also has effects such as anti-inflammatory and antibacterial action. Therefore, compared with forget-me-not, lavender has a wider range of effects and uses.
