As everyone knows, the elegant and refined flower posture of orchids is deeply cherished, and Cymbidium sinense, also a highly charming plant of the Orchidaceae family and Cymbidium genus, is even more sought after by flower enthusiasts worldwide. The reason for its popularity is that after its flowers open, they have a unique posture, and it also has a subtle and elegant fragrance, making people feel as if they are in a sea of flowers, so fresh that they cannot help but be enchanted.

Generally speaking, the flowering period of Cymbidium sinense is very long, and the blooming time can span from autumn to early spring. After buying it from the flower market and bringing it home, what should be noted in its care? First, it prefers a semi-shaded environment, and its suitable growth temperature is around 18-28°C. During the spring and autumn seasons of the four seasons, it can be given soft morning light for 2-3 hours; in summer, because the sunlight is harsh, shading should be provided appropriately to avoid strong light damaging the leaves; in winter, when there is little sunlight outside, artificial supplemental lighting can be given, and when the sunshine is good, strong sunlight also needs to be avoided.

For home care, the watering technique for Cymbidium sinense is to follow watering only after the soil surface has dried, because its root system is relatively sensitive, and the soil needs sufficient air circulation. Therefore, after watering, be careful that there is no standing water at the bottom of the pot; otherwise, long-term excessive moisture will lead to root rot. The watering technique can use spraying to increase humidity for the plant and the surrounding environment, but be careful not to spray water onto the leaves, and if water gets on the leaves, wipe it off promptly.

Fertilizing is indispensable when growing flowers and plants. The growing season of Cymbidium sinense is from spring to autumn. During this period, it is recommended to apply a diluted orchid-specific fertilizer once a month. The fertilizing principle is light fertilizer applied frequently, and after each fertilization, remember to rinse the roots with clean water to avoid fertilizer liquid remaining on the roots and causing damage.

In addition, during care, if the soil is found to have become compacted, new soil can be replaced for it. It is recommended to use soil rich in content and with loose characteristics, and it is also possible to mix and prepare it yourself with 4 parts humus soil, 2 parts peat soil, 2 parts furnace slag and 2 parts river sand. Remember to observe the growth condition of Cymbidium sinense, pay attention to maintaining suitable humidity, and adjust the watering and fertilizing strategies so as to meet its needs at different stages.
