To create a better quality of life, modern people keep themselves busy with work every day, and under long-term, relentless hard work, many people become mentally stressed. If you are also in this state, it is recommended to keep a few pots of plants at home to please your eyes and let your body and mind relax. When it comes to growing flowers and plants, Phalaenopsis orchids are undoubtedly the best choice in people's minds, simply because the beauty of their flowers always makes people forget their worries and become immersed in their beauty. So, after buying one and bringing it home, how do you gently care for it so it grows well?

Indoor environment

After buying a Phalaenopsis orchid and bringing it home, the first step is of course to choose a place suitable for it to live. Although there are many varieties on the flower market, their care methods are mostly similar. It likes ample sunlight, so when choosing a location, find a spot with sunlight but not too intense. An east-facing window is recommended (mild, diffused light); this can avoid the risk of sunburn on the leaves and ensure the Phalaenopsis orchid can thrive indoors.

Placement and layout

To make viewing more layered, you can pay attention to placing shorter plants in front and taller Phalaenopsis orchids behind. This kind of contrast can greatly improve your mood when looking at them. In addition, you can pair them with small stones, ceramic jars, and other ornaments to add decoration to the windowsill.

Careful care

In addition to placing the Phalaenopsis orchid in a suitable location and giving it the light it needs, you should of course also regularly water, fertilize, and prune it as part of its care. Among these, it is best to use rainwater for watering, and be careful not to pour water directly onto the flowers or leaves, as this can easily cause black rot. Pour it slowly around the edge of the pot, and do not go fast; let the water gradually penetrate every inch of the soil, following the principle of watering when dry and letting it dry out between waterings. As for fertilizing, during the peak growing season of the Phalaenopsis orchid (in spring and summer), give it fertilizer with major nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Note that in winter, fertilizing should be reduced or stopped. As for pruning, if you find branches that are too long or too dense, prune them promptly. Especially in summer, regularly cut off dead, yellowed, diseased, or pest-infested branches.
