If you want a high-appeal, richly oil-painting-like green plant, then the "rubber plant" is the one to choose. With its elegant form and dense green leaves, it has quietly become a newly popular internet-famous plant in recent years, suitable for placing in a bright but not direct-sunlight spot, such as a living room corner, study, or an east-facing or south-facing balcony. In terms of symbolism, it represents auspiciousness, peace and longevity, and from a feng shui perspective it also carries the meaning of gathering wealth or changing one's luck.

Because the "rubber plant" has sold well in recent years, it has also spawned new variant plants: "Black Prince, Green Prince, Miss Freckles, Ruby rubber plant". Their leaf edges are pale yellow, and the color gradually deepens from the outside inward, meaning that on the same leaf there are three colors: pale yellow, light green and dark green. As for care, the rubber plant and the rubber plant's daily care are the same. It is not cold-tolerant and likes warmth and humidity. The suitable temperature is 18- 35°C. When it is below 5°C, it needs to be moved indoors promptly, and a certain air humidity must be maintained to ensure its growth.

In terms of light, it must be placed in a position with light, but it also must not be too intense. Doing so can prompt the plant, through the photosynthesis of chlorophyll, to make the leaves more oily-green and attractive. If during care it lacks light, or is given excessive sun exposure, its leaves are prone to developing rust spots and dropping.

In terms of soil, the soil can be renewed every one or two years. For the choice, it is recommended to use soil rich in organic matter. Do not use clay or soil with fine particles, to avoid causing root suffocation. As for the choice of flower pot, try to buy a pot with many drainage holes; if using a ceramic pot, it is recommended to lay expanded clay pebbles at the bottom.

In terms of watering, it is best for the soil to be moist. If too little water is given during watering, it can easily cause the leaves to turn black; if too much water is given, the root system will rot. Therefore, you should do this: add water promptly when dry, and ventilate promptly when too moist.

In terms of fertilizing, spring and summer are the growing season for the rubber plant. It is recommended to apply a balanced liquid fertilizer once a month to help its healthy growth, while in autumn and winter the fertilizing frequency can be reduced. At the same time, note that the amount used for fertilizing should not be too concentrated, because too high a concentration will cause root burn and lead to black spots on the leaves.
