At flower markets you can buy both cut flowers and potted plants of the Areca Palm. If what you bought is a cut flower, you can care for it as follows. First, after unpacking it, remove the excess leaves, then take a taller vase and add 2/3 water, then cut the base diagonally according to the length; note here that all leaves below the mouth of the vase need to be removed, otherwise it is prone to bacterial infection. Normally the vase life is about 20 days, and in daily care change the water every 2~3 days; each time you change the water, clean the vase and the stems together.

In indoor landscaping, the Areca Palm not only beautifies the environment but also purifies the air. If what you bought is a potted plant, in terms of care it likes bright but indirect sunlight, and in summer you should avoid harsh sun exposure, otherwise the leaves will scorch and turn yellow. It is recommended to place it indoors near a window but not in direct sunlight. For daily watering, follow the rule of moist soil; in general, in summer you can appropriately increase the watering frequency, and normally you can raise the air humidity, which is good for its growth, while in winter you should reduce the number of waterings.

Finally, regarding temperature, the most suitable growing temperature for the Areca Palm is 18-27°C, so avoid large temperature differences, and in the cold winter place it in a spot with heating. In addition, moderate fertilizing helps its healthy growth. From spring to autumn apply a liquid fertilizer once a month, while in winter you can reduce or stop fertilizing.
