Which beautiful flowers are hard to grow? We teach you how to care for them properly
Among flowers, there are some whose stunning beauty captivates the heart, yet whose care presents many challenges. Water lilies, lotus, irises and snapdragons are just such beautiful but difficult-to-grow flowers.
The water lily, like a fairy in the water, blooms quietly in a pond or water tank. However, caring for water lilies is no easy task. First, it has extremely high demands for water quality. Clear, pollution-free water rich in nutrients is the foundation for water lily growth. If the water quality is poor, water lilies easily grow poorly, or even wither and die.
Second, water lilies need plenty of sunlight. A lack of sunlight prevents the flowers from opening normally, and the leaves also turn yellow and withered. Furthermore, water lily growth also requires suitable temperatures. In the cold winter, warmth-preserving measures are needed, otherwise water lilies find it very hard to make it through.

The lotus has been beloved by scholars and writers since ancient times. "Lotus leaves stretch to the horizon in endless green, lotus flowers glow especially red in the sun" vividly depicts the magnificent beauty of the lotus. But caring for lotus is likewise full of difficulties. On one hand, lotus needs a relatively large growing space. Whether a pond or a water tank, it must have enough volume for the lotus roots to spread out.
On the other hand, lotus also has strict requirements for soil. Fertile, loose soil with good water retention is the key to healthy lotus growth. In addition, during growth the lotus also needs regular fertilizing and pest and disease control; the slightest negligence may affect the lotus's growth and blooming.

The iris is known for its unique flower shape and rich colors. Iris flowers are shaped like butterflies and come in many colors such as blue, purple and yellow. However, caring for irises requires extra care. Irises have fairly strict requirements for soil pH and grow best in slightly acidic to neutral soil. If the soil pH is unsuitable, irises easily grow poorly.
At the same time, irises also need plenty of sunlight and good ventilation. When it comes to watering, you must get the degree right: not too much, which causes waterlogging, and not too little, which makes the soil too dry. In addition, irises need appropriate cold protection measures in winter to avoid frost damage.

Snapdragons have small, exquisite flowers in dazzling, vivid colors. Snapdragon flowers come in a rich variety of colors, including red, pink, yellow and white, and often make people fall in love with them at first sight. But caring for snapdragons is also quite difficult. Snapdragons are rather sensitive to temperature, tolerating neither high heat nor severe cold. In the high heat of summer, snapdragons easily wither;
and in the cold of winter, they are easily killed by frost. In addition, snapdragons need plenty of light, but must not be exposed to strong sunlight for long periods, otherwise the quality of the flowers is affected. When fertilizing, you must also pay attention to the right amount; too much or too little fertilizer can both have adverse effects on snapdragons.

Although water lilies, lotus, irises and snapdragons are beautiful but hard to grow, this does not stop people from loving them. It is precisely because of their beauty and uniqueness that people are willing to spend time and effort trying to grow them. In the process of caring for them, we can keep learning and exploring, accumulate experience, and improve our flower-growing skills.
