Green Earth Phalaenopsis and Sunbathing Phalaenopsis have attracted much attention for their unique appearances. However, there are many differences between them, and caring for Green Earth Phalaenopsis also has its own particularities.

First, in terms of appearance, Green Earth Phalaenopsis and Sunbathing Phalaenopsis differ in flower color, flower shape and leaves. The flowers of Green Earth Phalaenopsis are usually a fresh pale green, with relatively rounded petals arranged neatly, like a group of green-clad fairies dancing gracefully. Its leaves are thick, emerald green and glossy, and the leaf shape is relatively broad, giving a feeling of vigorous vitality.

The flowers of Sunbathing Phalaenopsis, by contrast, are more brightly colored, commonly orange-red, pink and so on, and the petal edges may be ruffled or wavy, with a relatively unique flower shape. The leaves are relatively narrower and may be slightly lighter in color, presenting an overall posture of passionate exuberance.

In terms of growing environment, the two also differ to some extent. Green Earth Phalaenopsis relatively prefers a warm and humid environment, with a suitable growing temperature of 20 - 28 degrees Celsius, and it has relatively high humidity requirements, generally around 60% - 80%

Sunbathing Phalaenopsis, however, has a relatively higher light requirement and needs sufficient sunlight, but in summer when temperatures are high it also needs appropriate shading to prevent the leaves from being scorched. In terms of temperature and humidity, its requirements are relatively similar to those of Green Earth Phalaenopsis.

The following are some soils recommended as suitable for the growth of Green Earth Phalaenopsis:

Sphagnum moss: Sphagnum moss has good water retention and air permeability, and can provide a moist and breathable environment for the roots of Green Earth Phalaenopsis. It is soft in texture and will not damage the roots, and is one of the commonly used substrates in Phalaenopsis cultivation.

Pine bark: Pine bark that has been composted and processed has good air permeability and drainage, and can effectively prevent root rot caused by water accumulation.

Coconut coir: Coconut coir has good water retention and also a certain degree of air permeability, and can provide suitable conditions for the growth of Green Earth Phalaenopsis.

Charcoal: Charcoal can increase the air permeability and adsorption of the soil, helping to keep the soil dry and clean.

Perlite: Perlite can improve the air permeability and drainage of the soil, preventing the soil from becoming too compacted and waterlogged.

It should be noted that when using these substrates, they are usually mixed in a certain ratio to achieve both water retention and air permeability. For example, sphagnum moss, pine bark and perlite can be mixed in a 2:1:1 ratio to provide ideal growing soil for Green Earth Phalaenopsis.
