Spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) is a plant that is easy to care for and has strong reproductive capacity, and it also has the ability to purify the air, making it the first choice of green plant for many families. How do you propagate it by snapping off a branch? First, with a clean, decisive motion, snap off the branch about 1-2 cm above the node (also called the bud eye). Then insert the snapped-off branch into moist, loose soil, with the insertion depth at about one-third to one-half of the branch length. Finally, provide a bright, indirect light environment, generally 15-25 degrees Celsius is best, and keep the soil slightly moist while avoiding waterlogging, to ensure the new growth can flourish.

Peperomia

Peperomia (Peperomia obtusifolia) is a common indoor foliage plant, also known as jade plant, round-leaf pepper, or pepper plant. It belongs to the Piperaceae family as an evergreen plant, and its leaves look like small pouches, very beautiful. How do you propagate it by snapping off a branch? First, use sterilized sharp scissors to cut off a branch about 1 cm below the node. Each branch can be cut with 2-3 nodes. Then insert the cut branch into moist perlite, vermiculite, or sandy soil and other well-draining media, with the insertion depth at about one-third of the branch length, then cover it with a plastic bag and place it in a bright but not direct sunlight location. Finally, after about 2-3 weeks, check whether the branch has rooted. Once rooted, the plastic bag can be removed, gradually acclimated to normal light, and given appropriate fertilizer to promote lush growth.

Purple spider plant

Purple spider plant is a perennial foliage herbaceous plant. Its special feature is that when grown in a relatively shaded environment its leaves are greener, but when grown in ample sunlight its leaves turn purple-green, so some flower shop owners also call it purple-flowered spider plant. How do you propagate it by snapping off a branch? First, use clean scissors to cut off a branch about 1 cm above the node, ensuring each branch contains at least one node. Then insert the cut branch into moist, loose soil or a hydroponic container, keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged during this period. Finally, after about 2-3 weeks, check whether the branch has rooted. Once rooted, it can be transplanted into a larger pot, or you can continue to let it grow naturally.
