Potted "bamboo" usually has culms 3-5 m tall and about 2-3 cm in diameter, with blue-green culms that are smooth and hairless, and emerald green, narrow, long and pointed leaves. It has strong growth habits, likes sunny and humid environments, and its suitable growing temperature is 15-25°C. It is relatively cold-tolerant, but in winter it must not go below 5°C. In summer, if it is too hot, it needs to be shaded. For daily care, it is recommended to place it by a window or on a balcony.

As for soil, bamboo likes acidic soil with good air permeability and good drainage. You can use a general-purpose soil mixed with peat soil, or humus soil mixed with some sandy soil for planting.
As for watering, it does not need special attention, because watering should not be too frequent; keeping it slightly moist is enough. But also be careful not to let it become too dry, because if it lacks water, its leaves will curl and turn yellow. It is recommended to water once every 3-5 days in spring and autumn, about once every 10 days in winter, and once a day in hot summer. If the weather is too hot, it should also be shaded. Of course, you can also use a spray bottle to mist it and keep it humid.

As for fertilizing, it is recommended to apply thin fertilizer frequently. Fertilizing must not be excessive, otherwise it will cause the bamboo to grow too fast and reduce its ornamental value. It is recommended to apply organic fertilizer once a month. Fertilizing is not suitable in winter or summer. Finally, how do you propagate bamboo? Before propagating, first select some relatively robust branches, then place the cut ends of the branches into the soil and bury them, keep the soil moist, and wait quietly for the branches to sprout again. One thing to note is that because the root system of bamboo is not very developed, it is best not to use a deep pot each time you propagate it, otherwise it is very easy to cause root rot and yellowing, withered leaves.
