So how do you grow an asparagus fern so it stays green all year round? First, asparagus fern is a plant that cannot take too strong sunlight, so it is best kept indoors in a ventilated, shady environment; at the same time it fears both cold and heat, with a suitable temperature of 15-28°C, and below 5°C it is prone to cold damage.

Second, it likes a moist growing environment. For everyday watering, follow the principle of "moist but not wet, water when dry"; you can also feel the soil about two centimeters below the surface with your hand, and if the soil feels dry and the surface of the potting soil is also whitish, then it is time to water. Each time you water, be sure to water thoroughly, and after watering also check the saucer for accumulated water; if you find any, pour it out immediately. In addition, you can use the soaking method to replenish water for the asparagus fern: use a basin, put the asparagus fern in it, then add water to a level above the soil, and let it soak for about two minutes; this can prevent the bottom of the root system from lacking water, but be careful not to soak it too long, to avoid poor respiration and the appearance of root rot and yellow leaves.

Next, when watering through the four seasons, pay attention to the water temperature. In summer, it is best not to water it at noon, because the temperature is high at noon, so water once a day; in winter, it is best to water it in the early morning, and be careful that the water temperature is not too cold, watering 2-3 times a week. In daily care, do not forget to mist its leaves regularly, because this effectively increases the humidity in the air, making its leaves greener and preventing them from turning yellow.

Finally, when growing asparagus fern, choose relatively good soil, mainly loose sandy soil with good drainage; do not use heavy yellow clay. For fertilizing, you can give it a light fertilizer once every half month (a slow-release fertilizer is recommended). In addition, asparagus fern is quite interesting: it fears smoke the most, and if someone often smokes next to it, it may just show you by producing leaves.
