Today I recommend one for those of you who especially love counting money; its name is "String of Coins", and at first glance its meaning is strings of silver coins and rolling in wealth, and it is also a silent air purifier that can make the air at home fresher. How do you pick "String of Coins" at the flower market? Generally speaking, it comes with a pot and soil; choose one whose tips are a bit greener, and do not choose one that is too red, because very red tips are caused by spraying chemicals.
After buying it and taking it home, first choose a sunny and well-ventilated place to grow it, because only with sufficient sunlight will its later leaves grow thicker and thicker, and with good ventilation its root system will not easily rot. Its suitable growth temperature is -5 to 35°C, and attention should be paid to cold protection and sun protection. In terms of diseases and pests, watch out for gray mold; in the early stage, you can spray with thiophanate-methyl, carbendazim, etc., and for pests there are aphids and scale insects, which can be killed with related pesticides.
Second, its water requirement is very low, and it is very drought-tolerant, because its leaves can store a large amount of water and nutrients. To judge whether it lacks water, touch the leaves; if they feel especially soft, then water it. Finally, regarding fertilization, apply fertilizer regularly about every 15 days (diluted liquid fertilizer). For later pruning, it is recommended to prune once every 1-2 years, keeping the plant height at about 20 cm. The specific operation is to first take off the pot, then dig away half of the soil to expose the roots, then put some loose, breathable, and well-drained soil (70% granular soil) in the new pot, then place the String of Coins in it, add soil around it and press it firm, and be sure to maintain a certain humidity during the recovery period.
