What does the Phalaenopsis Jixiang Ruyi look like, and does it have a pleasant fragrance?
There are many varieties of Phalaenopsis, and the flower colors are incredibly diverse. Among them, the color that best represents happiness is yellow. I believe everyone who receives a yellow bouquet will show a smile of joy. As Children's Day is approaching, today I'd like to introduce a Phalaenopsis that is full of the color representing "happiness and good fortune" - Jixiang Ruyi.

"Jixiang Ruyi" is also known as Little Lemon. It is one of the few waxy-flowered Phalaenopsis with a decent flower count. When it blooms during its flowering season, it shows a yellow color with a hint of green, and after it has been open for a longer time, it turns into a rich golden yellow. The petals feel thick and smooth like wax to the touch, and the petals are oval-shaped, which truly lives up to its auspicious name. Its leaves are quite glossy, and the flower, leaf and stem are about 20 cm tall in total, giving it a relatively harmonious overall appearance.
Growers buying Jixiang Ruyi for the first time may ask whether this quality of Phalaenopsis has a fragrance. Actually, it does have a fragrance, but it is not a particularly strong scent; you have to get close to smell a faint grassy note. As for the price, it generally does not exceed 30 yuan at the flower market, and the flowering period can last as long as half a year.

How do you care for such a beautiful Phalaenopsis? First, when buying, choose healthy seedlings, mainly selecting ones with good gloss on the leaf surface, and then choose thick leaves that do not break easily. Finally, check whether the root system is intact and whether the flower petals are upright and firm.
After bringing the orchid home, you can use a plastic pot with good breathability for care, generally using sphagnum moss soil, or soil specially made for orchids, and you can also use self-mixed materials such as leaf mold, perlite and vermiculite. As for the growing environment of Phalaenopsis, the growing temperature is 18-30°C, and it likes a warm and humid environment with sufficient light, so it can be placed in positions such as a balcony or windowsill. As for watering, the amount of water only needs to keep the soil moist, but there must be no water accumulation. The number of waterings in summer is about 2-3 times per week, in spring and autumn 1-2 times per week, and in winter, because the temperature drops, watering once a week is enough.
