Lucky bamboo is a perennial evergreen tree with slender stems and leaves, soft and elegant; although it has a bamboo-like node structure, it is not a true bamboo. It can grow in all four seasons. As the most common hydroponic houseplant, it is easy to keep alive and has high ornamental value, and its symbolic meaning is good too. In China there is the blessing "when flowers bloom, wealth and honor come; when bamboo is reported, peace prevails."

Daily care for lucky bamboo

1. Keep the water clean

For newly bought lucky bamboo, change the water regularly once a week. After the roots have grown out, you can extend the interval between water changes; there is no need to change the water once a week. You can also use purified water directly to grow it, which can reduce the growth of algae.

2. Avoid direct strong sunlight
Lucky bamboolikes neither shade nor full sun, and has low light requirements. It is suitable for growing in a semi-shady environment. In summer, be careful to provide shade and sun protection; when caring for it in winter or other seasons, you can appropriately let it receive- - some weak light, which can enhance photosynthesis and promote plant growth.

3. How to fertilize
Hydroponic lucky bamboo is different from soil-grown lucky bamboo. It is recommended that after each water change, you add a few drops of all-purpose liquid fertilizer to the water, and the plant will grow more luxuriantly, with leaves that are even more deep green and glossy!

3. Hydroponics:

First take out the lucky bamboo that has already rooted. Do not replace the original water. The pruning height can be controlled at about one third of the entire stem. For the pruning position, we need to find a node of the lucky bamboo and use pruning shears to cut it off directly at a 45-degree angle. The purpose of doing this is to increase the contact area between the wound and the water, making it easier to root, and then put it back into the original vase. That completes the pruning.

Notes:

1. Pay attention to water quality; it must be purified water or tap water that has been left to stand. If using tap water, it must be dried in the sun before use.

2. Control the water volume; the water only needs to fill about 2/3 of the bottle3. Before planting, cut off the leaves at the base of the cutting and cut the base into a slanted opening with a sharp knife. The cut should be smooth, which helps absorb water and nutrients4. Change the clean water once every 3-4 days, and in about 15 days silvery-white fibrous roots can grow. Each time you change the water, add a small amount of ferrous sulfate to the vase, which can ensure robust growth. In summer when it is hot and dry, spray more water on the leaves.
