How to plant amaryllis bulbs? Beginners can also grow big flower balls
In recent years, amaryllis has been popular all over the country. Its popularity is mainly because the name "amaryllis" is auspicious. To get a good meaning, everyone likes to plant a pot at home or in the office. So today let's talk about what techniques beginners need for caring for amaryllis!
Generally speaking, after buying from a flower market or online, once you get the bulb, you first need to confirm whether the bulb is intact. The method is to pinch it with your hand and feel whether it is hard. If it is hard, that means it is relatively healthy. There is usually a layer of brown skin on the outside of the bulb, and this needs to be torn off before planting. In addition, if you find a little mold or rot on the bulb, you also need to cut it off in time until this white, healthy bulb is exposed. The bottom of the bulb is called the basal plate, and this part also needs to be protected and must not rot.

Can amaryllis bloom normally in the first year?
1. First, we need to give it enough sunlight. Amaryllis likes sun, so you can let it get direct sun.
2. Control the temperature. The growing temperature it likes is around 18 degrees to 25 degrees. If it is below zero, it will get frostbitten, so in winter it needs to be moved indoors. If it reaches 30 or 40 degrees in summer, it may go dormant, so try not to disturb it in summer.
3. When watering the flowers, control it and do not water too frequently, because too much water easily causes root rot. You can touch the soil with your hand and confirm that it is basically dried out before watering again.
4. Do not pull out the roots casually. Many flower lovers cannot control themselves and look two or three times a day, and each time they gently pull a little. This situation is strongly not recommended, because pulling too much means it hardly grows roots.
5. Pay attention to fertilizing. Before it has grown roots, do not fertilize at all, because it cannot absorb it. Do not fertilize during the flowering period either, because if the fertilizer concentration is even slightly poorly controlled, it is very easy to burn the roots and cause bud drop.

6. Generally speaking, in the first year you can choose a small ceramic pot for planting. Do not use too large a pot. If you want to repot in the second year, just change to one size larger, and remember it must not be too large.
7. If the leaves become very ugly in the winter of the second year, flower lovers can cut off all the leaves in January so that the nutrients flow back.
8. After planting, it is normal for the amaryllis bulb to feel a little soft when pinched, because after its flowers grow out, the inside of the bulb shrinks. This is just a normal oxidation issue.
