Taiwan's Top 100 MVP Managers List Announced, Director-General of Sanxia District Farmers' Association Makes the List
(Taiwan TB News Network / Reporter Sun Yaochang) The 14th "Taiwan Top 100 MVP Managers" list has been announced. Zhang Yongju, Director-General of the Sanxia District Farmers' Association in New Taipei, was honored with the Top 100 MVP Manager "Marketing Innovation" Award for his outstanding achievements in actively upgrading the cultivation techniques of farmers in Sanxia District and vigorously promoting local agricultural development and the sale of specialty agricultural products.
The Taiwan Top 100 MVP Managers selection was first held in 2008. Manager Monthly magazine annually evaluates candidates across various industries and positions, selecting 100 outstanding managers who have made key contributions to their organizations and teams in their work roles, and gives them recognition.
Zhang Yongju, Director-General of the Sanxia District Farmers' Association, has long been dedicated to creating new businesses. Using local Biluochun tea, he created a unique Biluochun mille-crepe cake and Biluochun thin noodles, which were selected as one of the Top 100 Premium Products of Taiwan's Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations in 2020. Zhang Yongju has actively created new sales channels for farmers. In addition to establishing the local sales platform "Fresh Farmers Direct Sales Store," which has a monthly revenue exceeding 2.5 million yuan, in the 110th year of the Republic of China (2021) he also responded to the pandemic by launching an online specialty agricultural product marketing campaign called the "Sanxia Summer Cooling Festival," promoting Sanxia's most popular agricultural products - "tea, green bamboo shoots, and honey" - through online channels. He also cooperated with the Agriculture Department's "Delicious Agriculture Drive-Through" policy to launch pandemic-prevention retail shops and pandemic-prevention vegetable boxes, small farmer bento boxes, and other popular online group-buying products.
Zhang Yongju also vigorously promotes agricultural innovation. He guides farmers in cultivating Dajing (Strobilanthes cusia) under bamboo forests to produce the raw material for Sanxia's signature "indigo dyeing," which not only fully utilizes forest economy but also adds value to Sanxia's century-old industry. He also established the New Taipei Young Farmers Association Sanxia Branch to unite the strength of young farmers in the Sanxia area, and set up a plant hospital at the Farmers' Association, employing professional researchers from National Taiwan University to serve farmers on-site. Outstanding leadership combined with unique business strategies has made Director-General Zhang Yongju the first and only Director-General among Taiwan's 441 farmers' and fishermen's associations to receive this award.
Zhang Yongju stated that serving farmers and the public is the sacred duty of the Farmers' Association, and as Director-General of the Farmers' Association, he must keep this firmly in mind. He must do his utmost to market products for farmers and solve their difficulties so that farmers can cultivate their land with peace of mind, while also safeguarding the public's health by providing high-quality agricultural products to consumers. This award is an affirmation of the Sanxia District Farmers' Association team, and in the future they will continue to work hard to create more benefits for farmers and the public.
Li Wen, Director of the New Taipei City Agriculture Department, stated that as environmental protection and health awareness gradually rise, many enterprises have begun to respond to green responsibility and sustainable development goals, and the public increasingly values the concept of healthy living. Therefore, agricultural development, in addition to striving to increase output and production value, should also achieve a balance among environmental, physical, and mental health. The Agriculture Department therefore invites citizens and friends to jointly promote green consumption, support organic, eco-friendly, and locally produced agricultural products, reduce carbon emissions, and create a healthy and good life.
