Since ancient times, people have used natural elements such as sound, light and water in prayer rituals to convey their wishes and thoughts to the heavens, such as: indigenous blessing dances, Tibetan five-colored prayer flags, bell-ringing on New Year's Eve……. Beitou is the name that the Ketagalan people of the Pingpu tribe gave to this area, meaning "witch." Legend has it that the witch was the embodiment of the wise, living in Beitou and using rituals to resolve disasters brought by the sulfurous spring water, nurturing Beitou's diverse cultural and industrial landscape. In Beitou's hot spring culture, besides the witch, there is another deity named "Tangshou Guanyin" (Hot Spring Guardian Guanyin), created as a spiritual anchor for Beitou residents. For more than a hundred years, it has silently guarded Beitou's hot springs, closely bound with the emotions of the people, which is precisely the vivid life force of hot spring culture. During the event, a Tangshou Guanyin prayer ceremony is arranged at Xingchuan Pavilion, allowing the public to experience hand purification and bell lighting, purifying the worldly emotional turmoil and receiving heartfelt blessings.
