Come Eat, Come Chat, Charm the Hakka Villages "2021 ITF Taipei International Travel Fair Hakka Pavilion launches community mini-trips, cultural experiences; spend 999 and get an extra-value gift

The Hakka Affairs Council also planned tourism resources for Hakka villages across Taiwan's three, six, and nine routes, inviting local Hakka villages, master artisans, souvenir gift vendors, and travel agencies, with a total of 25 communities and businesses participating at the Hakka Theme Pavilion (booth number K702). Hakka Affairs Council Minister Yang Chang-chen and Deputy Minister Chung Kung-chao appeared one after another on the first day to support the Hakka Theme Pavilion, promoting the delicious food, fun activities, and lively products and events at the Hakka Theme Pavilion during these four days of the travel fair.

Hakka Affairs Council Deputy Minister Chung Kung-chao said that to showcase the new look of the Hakka Pavilion at this travel fair, they specially launched "Community Mini-Trips" - 15 in-depth mini-trip itineraries including Miaoli rural farm-to-table dining and a visit to Shihliao Time Village along the Provincial Highway 3 route, historic site walks and a cacao day trip in Liudui, and a Fenglin micro-trip along the Provincial Highway 9 route - as well as more than 11 package itineraries offered by travel operators for different groups such as families and hikers, including the national-level greenway "Zhang Zhi Xi Lu" and Hakka cultural experiences; "Master Artisans" showcased 5 traditional Hakka village craft techniques including indigo dyeing, camphor and citronella, pottery, oil-paper umbrellas, and cultural creative handmade pens; "Come Chat DIY" offered rush weaving, handmade indigo dyeing, oil-paper umbrella painting, and flower arranging; "Come Eat DIY" planned tea soap, cocoa butter lip balm and hand cream, ox-cart cake and fermented tofu, allowing the public to take them home as souvenirs after the experience; the souvenir gifts section gathered 5 selected vendors of Hakka rice foods and snacks, jams, cookies, sweet fermented rice, and organic rice, selecting the best tastes of the Hakka villages for the public.

The Hakka Affairs Council said that this travel fair lasts only 4 days, so it specially arranged a wonderful "Guest Guides the Way" lecture series, inviting Golden Bell Award winner Hsu Tzu-yen, Golden Melody Award winner Lo Wen-yu, and local artisan Yeh Tso-wei to lead the way into Hakka villages 369, and also arranged well-known writers Liu Ka-shiang and Wen Shih-kai to lead the public in roaming the Hakka villages together. In addition, "Guests Talk and Sing" features the well-known Hakka rock band "Shen Gun Yue Tuan" and musician Huang Lian-yu, bringing the most explosive and creative Hakka music feast.
