2021 Forest Market invites you to find the "market" in the forest together

(Taiwan TB News Network / Reporter Chen Mingzong) The Forest Market "Forest Has a Market," now in its fifth year, grandly opened on the 15th. The organizer, the Forestry Bureau, called on domestic wood and bamboo material manufacturers, communities, and groups with industrial-scale development and application of forest products to gather together, allowing the public to experience in an all-around way the benefits that forests bring to our food, architecture, home life, recreation, and spiritual cultivation.

This year's Forest Market planned five major themed markets, outdoor forest stage activities, indoor handcraft experiences, and a forest film exhibition, leading the public to learn about domestic wood and bamboo material products, domestic bamboo products, environmentally friendly dining, forest specialty products such as under-forest economy, and ecotourism itinerary planning.

Since the Forestry Bureau declared the start of the "Year One of Domestic Materials" in ROC year 106, it has actively promoted domestic wood and bamboo materials. This year's Forest Market took "domestic bamboo materials" as a major focus. In addition to increasing the exposure of the "bamboo material" industry, it also planned bamboo booth frameworks and bamboo swing installation art, allowing the public to experience the warm and resilient qualities of bamboo materials, break away from the framework that bamboo materials are only used for traditional farm implements, and recognize the feasibility of applying bamboo materials to architectural design and other diversified uses.

The Forestry Bureau stated that in order to promote the use of domestic materials and the diverse service value of forest products such as under-forest economy, because life is closely tied to forests, every action and consumption behavior indirectly affects forests and the natural environment. The public can avoid becoming an accomplice to illegal logging by purchasing wood products bearing the "Taiwan Wood" label. Bamboo materials have excellent carbon fixation capacity and are regarded as the most sustainable and most environmentally friendly natural material. We should value this kind of green material.

The 3-day 2021 Forest Market gathered creative domestic material products, excellent wood and bamboo crafts, wonderful music, and rich cultural features. The event times are October 15, Friday, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.; October 16, Saturday, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.; and October 17, Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The public is invited to take time on the weekend to come to Huashan Central Art and Culture Park and West Building 1, and together feel the abundant beauty of the forest!
